Hello, hope this finds you all well. Another week has flown by and I'm running to try and keep up! I've been working on items for our Old Farmhouse Gathering team's 'New Beginnings Spring Celebration' which will be starting on Etsy on February 24th (don't you love the graphic Deena of Ewe 'n Me Printables created for the celebration?!).
Also, I made up a tag to include with my ATC's that I sent to my swap partner and I've been working on a special order for an Etsy customer. I then made a very quick trip so I could go with my Mom to an appointment she had with her specialist, so it's been a jam packed week :O)
Here's the tag I made for my swap partner, she loves all things 'winged' so I hope she will like it.
The background of the tag was coloured with some Tim Holtz Distress
Stains ('Picked Raspberry' and 'Peeled Paint') and then I oversprayed
through a floral stencil from my stash with some Heidi Swapp Color Shine Spray in 'Tinsel'. I used a Tattered Angels "Nature In Flight" stamp set for the script and swirls and then added some butterflies from a couple of Clear Art Stamps sets "Born To Fly" and "Sew Special", all stamped with some Ranger 'Jet Black' Archival Ink. All of the stamp sets are from Crafty Vintage Girl. Then I aged the edges with some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in 'Walnut Stain', added some butterfly charms from my stash onto a little lobster claw clasp and attached the charms to the fibers I used for my tag tie.
And the Twigs 'n Sprigs embroidery that I showed you here, has now been made into a pillow cover and will be one of my new items for our OFG Spring celebration.
Love how it turned out despite my misgivings about the dry brushing so you were all correct LOL! I then worked on some new 'Daffodil Beauties' flowers:
and while I LOVE how she turned out, they are very labour intensive to make and so I've decided to skip them for now and work on something a little less time consuming for my OFG celebration items. Having said that, I've nothing else to show you because nothing is ready for pictures, so I have to get a move on since the celebration starts on Monday, yikes!
The special order I'm working on involves transferring some lovely images that my customer purchased from Cottage Rose Graphics to tea stained muslin but as I have discovered, these delicately coloured images don't transfer real well to the muslin. So I've ordered some of the Lesley Riley TAP (Tranfer Artist Paper) sheets to see if that technique of image transfer will work better for these light coloured images as compared to my usual tar gel method. I've never used it before, so I'm hoping it is going to work. I've heard nothing but good things about this transfer paper and am hoping it will live up to it's hype!
Hope you've had a great week and enjoy the upcoming weekend. Although I'm trying to think spring as I create, the snow we are forecast to get over the next few days is making it a bit difficult! Maybe if we all get together and 'Think Spring' it will materialize for us all :O) Have a great weekend and happy creating!
