J Is For ...

Hi everyone, I was  cruising around some of my favourite blogs earlier this week and saw that the challenge this week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog was to be inspired by the letter J.  I love these weekly challenges and with fall just around the corner I was inspired to make the tag below ...

J Is For Jack O'Lantern

Started with a size 5 manila tag that I colored with Spiced Marmalade Distress Stain and then stenciled the moons and the harlequin pattern using some Pumice Stone Distress Ink and a very old DecoArt stencil I had in my stash.  Next I stamped the spider, spider web and the word BOO! with Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink, using a Crafty Secrets Clear Art Stamp set (Halloween Fun Medium #SM20).  I printed out the Jack O'Lantern images, fussy cut them and then adhered them to the tag after lightly distressing the edges of the images with Walnut Stain DI.  The two pumpkin images were from a free download I got at the Far Far Hill blog and the cute little Jack O'Lantern wearing the basket hat was another freebie from Magic Moonlight.  The edges of the tag were shaded with Pumice Stone DI and then I further darkened the edges with a little Black Soot DI.  Added some appropriately colored ribbon and fibers from my stash and it was done.

It's about 85F in the shade here, so this little tag has cooled me down a bit, thinking about fall :O)  I'm working on some more tags and cards for other challenges so will be back shortly to share them with you, till then stay cool and happy creating!
