Happy Holidays Christmas Card

Hello everyone, hope this finds you all well.  I've managed to get another Christmas card made to link up with Linda Coughlin's 12 Tags Of Christmas Funkie Junkie Style challenge, sponsored by her online shop The Funkie Junkie Boutique, and this card was inspired by her week #7 tag.

My card is pretty much exactly the same as Linda's tag, other than the colour scheme and a couple of other minor changes.  I was in a bit of a rush to get this completed so didn't take any in process pics but here are some close ups with a brief description.

I used a piece of plaid scrapbook paper from Tim Holtz's Tidings Paper Stash for my background rather than stenciling the background as Linda had done on her tag.  I'm back in my happy place with tattered and inked edges!

The Poinsettia was die cut with Tim's Tattered Poinsettia die and I made mine in red (Candied Apple, Barn Red and Aged Mahagony Distress inks) with some cake decorating stamens in the middle and a sprtiz of Biscotti Perfect Pearls Mist.

A 'happy holidays' Christmas Quote Chip; I over-revved when sanding the chip to age it so had to go back in with a Distress Marker to re-ink the quote!

Mini Holiday Greens die cut from white cardstock and embossed with Emerald Creek Craft Supplies Fractured Ice embossing powder, love this powder as it totally changes dependent upon the colour behind it!

The square Ornate Frame #2 die was cut from kraft cardstock and the frame embossed with Burnt Copper Leaves embossing powder from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies.

And the center of the Ornate Frame #2 was stamped with one of Tim's Mini Doodle Greetings stamp, inked around the edges with Ground Espresso Distress ink and covered with Clear Rock Candy Crackle paint with a top coat of gloss varnish.

Love that crackle!

And finally, as Linda had done, a Distress ink coloured Crinkle Ribbon bow at the bottom; my bow coloured with reds and greens to coordinate with the plaid background paper.

And that was it, love how it turned out, what a wonderful design Linda!

I'm still behind with Linda's challenges but hope to get caught up in the next couple of weeks.  Stay tuned for more cards and some new DT projects and thanks so much for stopping by today.  Happy creating!

  5. And I'm still behind on seeing all the wonderful projects inspired by Linda's tags! Love the rustic elements of this card--the plaid, the wonderful frame and the greenery. But most of all I love that crackled framed panel. A wonderful touch! Hugs!
