Winter Woodland Christmas Card

Hello everyone, I'm waiting for some gesso to dry on card 8 to link up with The Funkie Junkie's Christmas tag challenge so decided to use some of my crafting 'leftovers' to whip up a little 5x5 square card while I twiddled my thumbs!

I already had stamped that adorable little cabin scene from Tim's Holiday Drawings stamp set with Ground Espresso Distress Archival ink and embossed it with Iridescent Shimmer embossing powder from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies, so fussy cut it and added some white sparkle embossing powder to the roof of the cabin.

The Tree Line die, cut from some dark green Classic Kraft Stock, was also already done so that became part of my background.  I die cut the largest Stitched Square from white cardstock, coloured it with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and then did some water colour stamping with the Tree Line stamps with Iced Spruce and Forest Moss Distress Inks.  Some Hickory Smoke Distress Crayon was added around the edges and the Tree Line die cut got adhered over top of the stamped trees.

More white sparkle embossing powder got added along the bottom edge and here and there on the branches of the die cut trees.  A piece of evergreen patterned scrapbook paper was cut 1/4" larger on all sides than the Stitched Rectangle background, the edges were tattered and everything mounted onto a 5" x 5" white card blank.

The 'wishing' sentiment from Tim's Scribble Woodland stamp set was stamped  onto the top left corner with Black Soot Distress Archival Ink and clear embossed.

The gold Deco Foil stars were already die cut in my stash with Tim's Shape Strips so I added some of them here and there as well.

The fussy cut cabin got popped up on some 3D Zots Singles adhesive dots, a sentiment was stamped on the inside with one of Tim's Doodle Greetings and the card was done.

The gesso should be dry soon on the other card I'm working on so I will hopefully be back tomorrow or Tuesday to share it with you, see you then and happy creating!

  1. I do love a leftovers card! The layered tree stamping gives this such great depth to your forest, and I love the little cottage nestled safely amongst the trees. Lovely!
