Spring Beauty Hang Tag For A Vintage Journey

Hello and thanks for stopping by, I have a Spring inspired hang tag to share with you today for Tag Friday over at A Vintage Journey.

Spring is proving to be very elusive here in B.C. so I decided to make this Spring Beauty hang tag in the hopes that it might speed Mother Nature up just a bit!  I've a few step out photos on how I made it, read on for my how to.

I started out with a piece of unloved scrapbook paper from my stash and gave it a coat of DecoArt Media Gesso and dashes of Media Crackle Paste.  Once the mediums had dried I cut off a strip about 5" wide and set the rest aside for another project.

I coloured the strip of scrapbook paper with washes of DecoArt Media fluid acrylics in shades of green and blue and then randomly stamped it with Vintage Photo Archival Ink and the Papillon stamp.

Stenciling came next through the Splash and Blossom layering stencils with transparent blue and green shades of DecoArt Media fluid acrylics and then some spattering with diluted Indian Gold Nuvo Mousse and Heidi Swapp White Color Shine.

The scrapbook paper was then adhered to a #10 hang tag, trimmed to size and the edges inked with Vintage Photo Archival ink and some more Indian Gold Nuvo Mousse.

Flowers were die cut from Tim Holtz's Wallflower Paper Stash with the Tattered Florals and Small Tattered Florals dies and butterflies die cut from the same scrapbook paper and some gold Metallic Kraftstock with the Mini Detailed Butterflies dies.

Foliage flourishes were die cut with the Sizzlets Decorative Flourishes dies from more Wallflower scrapbook paper.

And finally some stamped sentiments were created.  The 'one touch' sentiment (from a discontinued Crafty Secrets stamp set) was stamped with white ink onto black cardstock and edged with DecoArt Champagne Metallic Lustre.  The 'Beauty' word from Tim's Perspective stamp set was stamped onto some acrylic packaging with black Stazon ink and then cut into a banner shape.  The acrylic banner was gently heated with a heat gun and formed to give it some dimension.

And that was pretty much it!

Here are a few close ups, I added some fibers and ribbon to the hang tag hole with some curled gold wire and some Finnabair Metallic Micro Beads once all of the elements had been adhered.

Hope that you have enjoyed seeing how my Spring Beauty hang tag came together, I'm really, really hoping that Mother Nature likes it and will speed up the arrival of Spring around here, it's still snowing for Pete's sake!

Make sure to pop by A Vintage Journey to see what the other Creative Guides have made to inspire you, I've seen them all and they are wonderful as usual!  We are also starting a new tradition at A Vintage Journey for our Tag Friday posts, we will have a linky tool set up so that you can add your own hang tags if you'd like.  We won't be offering any prizes but we will pin our favourite to our A Vintage Journey Pinterest board and show case it in the next month's winners post, so hope you will be inspired to join in the fun.  Thanks as always for stopping by today and think Spring everyone!
