Joyful Circles Stenciled Art Journal Page

Hi everyone, I just discovered a fun new collaborative challenge from Tina Walker (A Dog's Life) and StencilGirl Products called #TheStencilfiedJournal.  Each week Tina will be sharing a stencil prompt to inspire a new art journal page created with StencilGirl Products stencils.

This is my contribution to week #1's prompt 'Stencil a page.  Cover it with circles'.  (As usual I am way behind, Tina just posted week #5's prompt today!).

No in process pictures, I was too busy having fun!  I used StencilGirl Products Circular Patterns For Play (L411), Doodle It Bigger (L347) and Tropical Floral (L311) with Distress Inks, Distress Spray Stains and Dina Wakley Media acrylic paint.

Ranger Ink texture pastes in gloss and matte, torn book pages, Idea-ology Tissue Tape, gold Deco Foil Transfer Foil and some alphabet stamps from my stash.

Tim Holtz's Illustrated Garden stamps on tissue paper, Scribbles & Splat dies cut from gold Metallic Kraft Stock and circles stamped with a variety of lids.

A little outlining of some of the texture paste stenciled circles here and there.

The journal I am using for the challenge is a midori-style art journal that I made last year, the signatures are made from a variety of papers that include everything from watercolour paper to junk mail so I'm looking forward to seeing how the surfaces will play with the prompts.

On to week #2, check out the challenge for yourself and hope you will join in the fun.  See you again soon,

  1. I love your little journal to “create art”! How fun it looks to play with all those varied circles. Those die cut scribble circles are a favorite of mine and I love how the play into your painted and inked circles.

Due to an inordinate number of SPAM comments lately I have had to turn on comment moderation. Your comment will be published as soon as it has been reviewed, thanks so much for your interest in my blog! Deb xo
