2019 Planner Journal

Hello everyone, hope this finds you well.  I have a 2019 planner journal to share with you today that was inspired by the new 12 tags challenge over on the Tim Holtz Addicts Facebook group.  If you are like me you have been missing Tim Holtz's 12 Tags series that he ran on his blog for many years and so I was thrilled to find that the 'Addicts' had resurrected this fun challenge.  They will be posting a link to one (or more!) of Tim's 12 Tags posts each month and then challenging us to make a project inspired by the technique used on that tag.  This month the inspiration came from Tim's Tissue Wrap Collage technique that he used on his January 2015 tag and his June 2016 tag and I decided to use this technique for the covers of my 2019 planner journal.

I won't bore you with all the details as you can see the how to's on Tim's posts but here's a quick rundown on the products I used on my journal covers.  I die cut the covers with Eileen Hull's Journal die from Distress Mixed Media Heavystock and then covered them with Melange and District Market Tissue Wrap.   I used Distress Inks on my covers and then spattered them with Picket Fence and Ground Espresso Distress Paint and sprayed them with Brushed Pewter and Antiqued Bronze Distress Mica Spray.

Embellishments were added with a frame from a Cabinet Card Frame, sentiments from Small Talk, Occasions Small Talk and Clipping Stickers, Thrift Shop Ephemera and Metallic Alpha Gold Stickers and the spine of the journal was covered with Butterfly Design Tape.

Ransom Alpha Parts were painted with Festive Berries Distress Paint (I toned the colour down a bit with some Ground Espresso Distress Archival Ink) and Brushed Corduroy Distress Glitter.

Three signatures were created with custom designed computer printouts, printables and mixed media paper; a 2019 calendar signature, a design team assignments signature and a signature made with mixed media paper and printed papers for notes and doodling.

The signatures were sewn into the journal cover with a pamphlet stitch and that was it!  Here are some closeups of the journal so far, I still want to add more journaling cards and tuck spots but that will be an ongoing process throughout the year.

Tim's Wallflower Paper Stash was used to on the inside of the covers front and back and I added pockets to stash journaling cards and to do lists.  The front of the calendar was stamped with Tim's Merchant number stamps, a stamp from his Life Quotes set and some little individual alpha stamps in my stash.  The paper that the calendar was printed out on is from a variety of printable designers: Far Far Hill, Miss Cutie Pie and Sweetly Scrapped.

The design team signature was printed out on the computer and then I overstamped the front page with Tim's Inventor 1 stamp set.

Some vintage dictionary page printables from my stash were added to the third doodling signature, think they may have come from the Old Design Shop?

Added a little envelope (courtesy of Wings Of Whimsy) to this partial page to store journaling cards or small items or receipts.  Will be adding some more, it's too cute! (The background was stamped with Tim's Halftone stamp).

These fortune teller journaling cards are by Vectoria Designs, just tucked inside the envelope for now.

Hope you've enjoyed seeing my planner journal, I've already started to fill it up with design team dates and commitments ... it's going to be a busy year!  And hope that you will join in the challenge over on the Tim Holtz Addicts Facebook group to revisit some of Tim's wonderful techniques and inspirations from years past.  Have a great day everyone and happy creating!
