Put Your Stamp On It At A Vintage Journey

Hello everyone, I am hosting our January challenge over at A Vintage Journey and this month our theme is:

Put Your Stamp On It

For this challenge we would like to see some stamps on your creations, a minimum of one stamp but the more the merrier! Stamp your backgrounds, fussy cut or die cut some stamped images, add some stamped sentiments; whatever you'd like as long as it is in one of our preferred vintage, shabby, mixed media, art journaling, industrial or steam punk styles.

I decided it was high time to use some of the sadly neglected stamps in my stash for our challenge and I ended up choosing a couple of lovely stamp sets from Artistic Outpost - Think And Wonder and Ephemera Backgrounds - to create my Think And Wonder Postcard.

I adore this stamp of the young girl, isn't she a beauty?

I added some torn bits of Tim Holtz's Floral Collage Paper here and there to the postcard and die cut a few Small Tattered Florals from Distress Ink coloured cardstock in coordinating colours.  Prima Art Ingredients Metallic Micro Beads were added to the centers and under the flowers.

The sentiments are both from the Think And Wonder stamp set, simply stamped with Distress Archival ink, clear embossed and popped up on some foam squares.

One of my favourite elements on the postcard are the stenciled florals, I used Tim Holtz's Mini Floral Layering Stencil with Ranger Transparent Gloss Texture Paste.

I am going to have a step by step tutorial to share with you over on A Vintage Journey's blog in a couple of weeks time ** Edited to add:  the tutorial is now available on AVJ's blog, click here to view it :O) **  In the mean time, make sure to head on over to A Vintage Journey to check out the beautiful projects created by the other Creative Guides to inspire you and hope that you will Put Your Stamp On It and join our challenge!

Hope to see you there and happy creating,

Deb xo

  2. Oh, how lovely... it feels like forever since I've seen that wonderful AO girl, and she was one of my favourites in my early days. What a great nudge to ink her up again... I think this theme is perfect, as you say, for getting out those long-neglected stamps, so thank you for that. I love the joyful springtime colours and vintage florals you've paired her with here - charming!
